Is awareness of the safe handling of sharps vital for you and your colleagues? It may be that you work in an environment where sharps are in use. If you work in public spaces you need to know about the types of ‘sharps litter’ prevalent in the UK.
On completion of this course you will discover the primary and secondary risks from sharps. You will know about common blood borne viruses transferred by cuts. The Sharps Awareness course also covers the responsibilities of your employer. This includes what equipment they need to provide and the effectiveness of PPE. What are the correct protocols when reporting discarded sharps? You will also know the correct procedures to follow if you’re unlucky enough to receive a sharps injury.
Sharps Awareness is available as a stand-alone, single-user course. For multiple users, see our licence packages here.
